The Water Cycle

Last Thursday, I had the wonderful opportunity to teach
about the water cycle to my field experience class of 3rd Graders.

I introduced my lesson with this video
and made the students guess what we were going to learn.

Then, I showed them this video
and most of them already knew all the words.
So they really got into singing along.

Now, I have this awesome song stuck in my head and I literally have sung it everyday.

I also bought this water cycle packet from TPT for $3.50, here's the link:
    • I used the vocabulary match as a whole group exercise.
    • I used the task cards as a small group exercise and called it "WATER CYCLE RELAYS".
    • I used the foldable as a independent exercise (and assessment).
    • There is also a water cycle diagram that students can label, but we didn't have enough time to complete it.

I had so much fun teaching the water cycle, I wish you guys could have been there :)

Thank you Blog Queens :)

I am seaux excited about my new blog layout made by Blogs Fit For a Queen <3 !! They took my ideas and went above and beyond my expectations! I probably could have never done anything as cute and creative. It was actually a really easy process! I filled out a form online about what colors and theme I had in mind, and they emailed me a week or two later. They were very helpful and always made sure to ask if there was something I wanted to add or something I didn't quite like. I am forever thankful to them for my awesome blog. So thanks so much girls! Please if you're in need of a great blog design that will put all your ideas together without driving you crazy, click on the "Blogs Fit For a Queen" link in the first sentence or just scroll down to the bottom of my blog and click the Blog Queens Button.

My First Post

Hey y'all :) My name is Nechelle Williams and I am a Senior in Elementary Education at LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. GEAUXXX TIGERS!!!!! I start student teaching in January and couldn't be more excited. Initially, I went to LSU to become a Mechanical Engineer (crazy right?) because of my love for mathematics.  Then, one day in my Chemistry 1202 class, I had an 'aha' moment when my professor had his son's elementary class join us for a lecture. I thought maybe I could take my love for math and use it to teach a future generation to love math and create future engineers and mathematicians. That same day I changed my major and haven't looked back since. I will dedicate this blog to everything teaching! I am still deciding on which grade I want to teach, but right now first grade seems to have my heart. I will make sure to post things I create and other resources I find useful for all teachers and future teachers, free of charge. My ultimate goal is to just help teachers by giving them different ideas and resources, because we all know how stressful being a teacher can be with creating lessons, activities, procedures, assessments, etc., on top of everything else. I hope my blog helps you, enjoy!

Don't forget to be Magical!
